Breithorn 4164m - My first 13,661 ft peak No experience necessary – however you should be of a medium fitness level. This climb entertains you with an incredibly panoramic view of the main chain of the Alps, the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa. The Breithorn is located on the border between Switzerland and Italy. Most of the massif is glaciated It is one of the technically easier 4,000 meter climbs in the Alps. Heres the plan - Take the Gondola to Klein Matterhorn 3880m We take the normal route, the SSW of the Breithorn which starts from Klein Matterhorn crossing a glaciated plateau to the summit. The ascent and the descent is in snow and ice.
